There was very little to see of Bomba Village, though the welcome sign claims to have a population of 80 interspersed by the river and inner areas. We were told of a Mennonite community of 50 families in the jungle but we not able to travel there or to the ocean without a 4-wheel vehicle.
Due to the off-season, no boat operators were available to take us up the river, a 15-20 minute ride, to the ocean so we could walk on the beach, but were told it is walkable.
I felt a very peaceful and calm energy there and spite of the villagers having no electricity, they were very kind and I did get pictures of some of their carvings, which are incredible.
There is a power line running through the property to the island of San Pedro but not to these villagers. I can see where the QEG will be most useful and/or hydropower, since they're right on the river.
I can tell you to be that close to seeing the ocean and a smidgen of the property that I found over 3 years ago, was heart-wrenching. As we were leaving, I felt, if I could only teleport. It was a 3+ hour trip and tears fell as I got very quiet and went within myself to get re-centered.
I had such a clear vision of what would take place on this trip that it never occurred to me that I wouldn’t be able get the video footage I so desired or the walk on the beach and in the ocean.
I see many things that can be improved in the village, besides the roads, and I feel a deeper connection to the property than before. Whether it is the one or not, remains to be seen, as I'm keeping an open heart, but it just felt very 'at home' to be there.
We’re planning another trip after we have more background information and a 4-wheel drive vehicle. My current focus is on funding for both the resort and my living expenses, which include moving this month, so it’s critical to find more financial support to allow me to continue to make the necessary connections and travel arrangements. I have spoken to a couple people who know a great deal about the property and have friends that can help me.
Below are the pictures from Bomba Village.
